On March 30, the Minister of Defense of Azerbaijan, Colonel-General Zakir Hasanov, met with a delegation led by the Minister of the Armed Forces of the United Kingdom, Member of the British Parliament James Hippie.

The Defense Minister noted that the development of relations between our countries is always in the focus of the President of Azerbaijan, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev.

Colonel-General Hasanov gave detailed information on the work done in the liberated territories under the leadership of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief after the victory in the Great Patriotic War, as well as the situation in the Karabakh economic zone and the Azerbaijani-Armenian border.

The Minister also thanked the United Kingdom for its support under the UN Development Program to clear mines and unexploded ordnance in Azerbaijan.

In turn, Mr. James Hippie said that mutual visits and meetings between our countries are important for the expansion of bilateral relations.

In the end, the sides exchanged views on the prospects of military cooperation and other topics.
