Resolution, authored by Azerbaijan, was adopted by the UN

Azerbaijan is proud to be the main author of the UN General Assembly Resolution declaring June 24 "International Women's Day in Diplomacy".

Axar.az reports that the statement came from the Foreign Ministry on Twitter.

After gaining independence, Azerbaijan has ratified almost all international documents on the protection of women's rights and became the first Islamic country to grant equal political rights to women.
