Mehriban Aliyeva visited the Mevlana museum

Mehriban Aliyeva, the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Leyla Aliyeva, the Vice-President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, visited the Maulana Museum in Konya, Turkey, on August 9.

Axar.az reports that Abdulsattar Yarar, head of the Konya City Culture and Tourism Department, informed First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva and Leyla Aliyeva, Vice President of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, about the museum.

It was reported that the museum of Mevlana Jalaladdin Rumi, one of the greatest Sufis of the Turkish and Islamic worlds, located in the Karatay district of Konya, has been operating in the building complex where Mevlana lived since 1926. The center of culture is also known as "Mauvlana Tomb". The 25-meter-tall tomb was built on four thick pillars called "elephant legs". The main dome of the mausoleum is called "Green Dome" because of its turquoise color. Inside, the tomb is pyramid-shaped, open on three sides, and covered with walls on the south side. The top of the tomb is decorated with golden stars, and the floor is painted with different colors. Above the dome, "Bismillah" and "Ayatul kursu" are engraved with a white line.
