We are planning to double gas exports to Europe

According to the Memorandum signed between Azerbaijan and the European Union in the field of energy, we plan to double gas exports to Europe.

Axar.az reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said this while speaking at the opening ceremony of the Greece-Bulgaria Gas Interconnector (IGB) in Sofia.

Emphasizing that there is full potential for increasing gas exports, the head of state said:

"We have already started consultations with our partners regarding the expansion of gas export via the TANAP pipeline from 16 billion cubic meters to 32 billion cubic meters, as well as from 10 billion cubic meters to 12 billion cubic meters through the TAP pipeline. Because without this, it will be difficult to export additional gas."
