President Ilham Aliyev expressed his condolences to President Xi Jinping of the People's Republic of China.

We are deeply saddened by the news of the death of the former President of the People's Republic of China, outstanding statesman Jiang Zemin.

After the Republic of Azerbaijan gained state independence, Jiang Tzemin made great contributions to establishing the foundation of interstate relations and cooperation between Azerbaijan and China. We highly appreciate Jiang Tzemin's contribution to the development of Azerbaijan-China relations.

I offer my deepest condolences to you, the family of the deceased, and the entire Chinese people for this heavy loss."
