The purpose of Azerbaijan filing a lawsuit against Armenia in the International Court of Justice is to put an end to the killing and maiming of Azerbaijanis as a result of the explosion of mines placed by the Armenian side.

Axar.az reports that Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan Elnur Mammadov said this during his speech at the hearings held at the International Court of Justice.

"Azerbaijan applied to the court today with only one goal: to end the continuous killing and maiming of Azerbaijanis due to their ethnicity and nationality as a result of the explosion of explosive devices planted by Armenia after the signing of the tripartite statement in November 2020," E. Mammadov said.
