Erdogan-Aliyev agenda: the issue is not Karabakh

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan will visit Nakhchivan on September 25 at the invitation of his ally Ilham Aliyev.

Axar.az reports that Russian pro-Armenian political scientist Sergey Markedonov said this.

This region is of special importance for Baku and Ankara. After the weakening of the influence of the "Nakhchivan clan" in the internal political processes in Azerbaijan, the importance of Nakhchivan as the main symbol of statehood has significantly decreased. However, the idea of removing the barriers between the exclave and the "core" of Azerbaijan, on the contrary, is becoming more and more popular.

"As the Karabakh conflict, which is the main problem of post-Soviet Azerbaijan, is resolved, its popularity is increasing. We can follow this more precisely after the paragraph "On the security of transport communication between the western regions of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Autonomous Republic of Nakhchivan" in the Trilateral Declaration of Ilham Aliyev, Vladimir Putin and Nikol Pashinyan.
