The Kremlin hopes that the meeting between the leaders of Turkiye and Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan will contribute to the security of Karabakh and the normalization of life in the region.
Axar.az reports that Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said this while commenting on the upcoming meeting between Erdogan and Aliyev.
"Every time we hope that all the meetings of the President of Azerbaijan, including the meeting with the President of Turkiye, will contribute to security in the region and the normalization of life in Karabakh after what happened. We have such expectations," he said.
Peskov noted that Turkiye and Azerbaijan are sovereign countries and use their sovereign rights to develop cooperation:
"We know how close relations are between Baku and Ankara. And in turn, we have close relations with Ankara and Baku, which are not close at all."
