In the coming months, the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway will be increased to five million tons.
Axar.az reports that President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said these words in a statement to the press with President of Turkiye Recep Tayyip Erdogan on September 25 in Nakhchivan.
"Today, we exchanged ideas with you on the expansion of the capacity of the Baku-Tbilisi-Kars railway, and I informed you that the capacity of this road will be increased from one million to five million tons in the coming months. The construction of the railway connecting Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan and Turkiye has also been successfully completed. The works in the territory of Azerbaijan should most likely be completed by the end of next year," the head of state noted.
