Azerbaijan President Ilham Aliyev's position regarding Armenia's need to make changes to its constitution is correct and fair.

Axar.az informs that this was said by the first deputy general director of Russia's TASS news agency, Mikhail Gusman.

"How can you conclude a peace treaty with a country whose constitution has territorial claims against your country? This is a complete contradiction," he said.

Gusman added that he has seen information showing that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has already understood this:

"It is another matter that this does not gain the support of the Armenian society as a whole. Because this is the work of the Armenian authorities. The position of President Ilham Aliyev is clear, it is completely objective and corresponds to international realities. Armenia will take this step. It will happen sooner or later. Because your constitution cannot have a territorial claim against the country you want to make peace with. It is impossible. This means that there will be no peace between Azerbaijan and Armenia, and this is bad only for Armenia itself. Armenia is a defeated country, moreover, it is much weaker than Azerbaijan in all parameters: economic, political, not to mention the military component. This was proven during the 44-day war. Armenian society was under negative ideological influence for a long time, but it seems to me that they are now in the process of waking up."
