President Ilham Aliyev has sent a congratulatory letter to the Jewish community of Azerbaijan.
Axar.az presents the text of the letter:
"Dear compatriots!
I sincerely congratulate you on the occasion of the Jewish people's national New Year holiday – Rosh Hashanah, and I extend my best wishes to each of you.
Azerbaijan, which plays a bridge role at the crossroads of East and West, has been a unique place for centuries where friendship and brotherhood among peoples exist, and ethnic and cultural diversity and high multicultural values are preserved. Throughout history, representatives of various cultures and faiths have lived here as one family, free from discrimination, in an environment of peace, good neighborliness, mutual trust, and respect. Today, in our country, where a model of tolerance prevails, ethnic and religious minorities, including the Jewish community, have broad opportunities to benefit from their national and spiritual values and to preserve their customs, language, and culture.
I would like to emphasize that our Jewish citizens, as an integral part of our society and equal members, contribute to conveying the realities of Azerbaijan to the international community and actively participate in the social and political life of our republic, which is currently experiencing significant progress and rapid development.
Dear friends!
Once again, I congratulate you on Rosh Hashanah, which embodies renewal, spiritual purity, solidarity, and kindness, and I wish happiness to your families and abundance and prosperity to your tables.
Happy holiday!"
