Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with General Sahir Shamshad Mirza, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, who is on a visit to our country.

During the meeting, the prospects for further development of bilateral and multilateral relations between the two countries, as well as issues of regional cooperation, were discussed.
The high-level mutual visits between the leaders of the two countries and their foreign ministers, along with political consultation mechanisms and regional cooperation platforms, were noted with satisfaction for contributing to elevating our friendship and brotherhood to a higher level. The importance of further developing cooperation in political, economic, trade, high technologies, defense, security, and other areas was emphasized.
The significance of mutual support within various regional and international organizations, including the United Nations, the Non-Aligned Movement, and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, was highlighted. The importance of Pakistan being elected as a member of the UN Security Council for 2025-2026 was also noted.
It was mentioned that the 29th session of the Conference of the Parties to the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP29) would create additional opportunities for meetings between the country leaders and that this event presents a special opportunity for cooperation between the two countries.
Additionally, a discussion took place on other bilateral and regional issues of mutual interest.
