Lavrov to hold talks with China’s point person for Ukraine

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov is set to meet with Li Hui, China’s special envoy for Eurasian affairs and Ukraine, later on Thursday during a security conference in Minsk.

Axar.az reports that , citing Ria Novosti, the meeting comes as Russia’s conflict in Ukraine seems to have taken a concerning new direction, with NATO and South Korea expressing worries that North Korean troops might soon join forces with Moscow.

On Wednesday, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi reiterated Beijing’s strong ties with Moscow during a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Andrei Rudenko.
