Georgia's former president Mikheil Saakashvili has appealed to President Salome Zurabishvili for clemency.
Axar.az reports that Saakashvili wrote about this on his social media page.
“I express my full solidarity with President Salome Zurabishvili and appreciated her refusal to succumb to provocation and to agree with the demands of the Russian prosecutor's office. I noticed that Ms. Salome did not overlook Medvedev’s threat.
However, due to such directives from Moscow, I have been imprisoned for over three years on fabricated charges, and I do not want Salome Zurabishvili to be the leader historically responsible for this illegal imprisonment. She can truly eliminate this injustice. People, what do you think?” - Saakashvili stated.
