Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez will visit Azerbaijan to participate in the COP29 conference scheduled to be held in Baku this year.

Axar.az reports that this information was shared by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev during the acceptance of credentials from Spain's new ambassador, Cristina Latorre Sancho.

President Aliyev expressed his satisfaction with Sánchez's participation in COP29, noting that this will be the first visit by a Spanish prime minister to Azerbaijan.

He also expressed hope that the meetings during the visit will provide a new impetus for the development of bilateral relations.
