Germany's Foreign Minister makes surprise visit to Kyiv

Germany's Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock made an unexpected visit to Kyiv.

Axar.az informs that TASS reported this information.

The visit was not announced in advance for security reasons.

Baerbock stated that Germany has expanded its winter protection umbrella by allocating an additional 170 million euros in energy aid to Ukraine.

She also addressed Germany's air defense initiative, saying, "Every air defense system is crucial."

Additionally, Baerbock claimed that Ukraine is closer to the EU than ever before: "We continue to support and promote efforts for bold reforms, particularly in the areas of media freedom and combating corruption."

Notably, this marks Baerbock's eighth visit to Kyiv since the Russia-Ukraine war began on February 24, 2022.
