Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev Congratulates Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev on Victory Day.

My dear brother,

I am greatly pleased to extend my heartfelt congratulations to you and, through you, to the brotherly people of Azerbaijan on your glorious holiday—Victory Day.

Four years ago, under the leadership of a loyal son of his people, a brilliant patriot, an adept political figure, and a prominent personality like yourself, the territorial integrity of your country was completely restored, and historical justice was established.

Today, large-scale reconstruction works are being carried out in the liberated cities and villages of Azerbaijan, modern infrastructure objects and cultural heritage sites are being rebuilt, thousands of former internally displaced citizens are returning to their homeland, and new programs and socio-economic projects aimed at improving the living standards of the population are successfully being implemented.

I take great pride in having witnessed these great changes multiple times, and during my official visits, I shared these achievements with you. Without a doubt, we work together, guided by our common language, history, customs, traditions, and goals, and as a strategic partner, we are deeply pleased with the great successes of the brotherly state of Azerbaijan.

Dear Ilham Heydar oglu, your resolute political will and systematic efforts to strengthen your country’s position and prestige in the international arena are truly commendable.

Next week, in the beautiful city of Baku, the 29th Conference of the Parties (COP29) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change will take place, bringing together states from all over the world, including the most influential international organizations. This event will undoubtedly be a major historical victory for your foreign policy.

I am confident that during this prestigious event, significant achievements will be made in the fight against climate change, in reducing its effects, in adopting solutions and empowering strategies that respond to global challenges, and in advancing initiatives for a "green economy" transition by the world’s nations.

I eagerly look forward to our productive discussions and new agreements on multilateral cooperation during high-level meetings.
