Axar.az reports that the former president of Georgia, who is currently in prison, Mikheil Saakashvili said this about the recent speeches of the President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, regarding Russia.

Saakashvili emphasized Ilham Aliyev's courageous position and leadership qualities in a statement published on his Facebook page.

Saakashvili said that because he was in prison, he was late in expressing his condolences regarding the accident of the Azerbaijani civil plane.

"I share the grief of the families of those who died as a result of the accident and I wish the injured a speedy recovery. I admire Ilham Aliyev's principledness, high dignity, and the fact that he behaves like a true leader of his people. He openly stated the truth and exposed the hypocrisy and barbarism of the Russian side."
