The U.S. has assured European partners that they will be included in Ukraine peace talks, countering concerns that Washington might negotiate independently with Russia.
Axar.az, citing Kyiv Independent, reports that Moscow, meanwhile, is pushing for the lifting of EU-imposed sanctions as part of potential negotiations.
The EU’s sanctions target over 2,400 Russian entities and individuals. The U.S. has reportedly made clear that its priority is securing a ceasefire before discussing security guarantees.
Secretary of State Marco Rubio stated that Washington has discussed easing sanctions with the EU, while President Trump has suggested additional financial measures against Russia until a peace deal is reached.
