A telephone conversation was held between Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Kasper Veldkamp.

Axar.az informs that the Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry informed about this.

It was reported that during the telephone conversation, various aspects of Azerbaijani-Netherlands relations, as well as the current situation and realities in the region in the post-conflict period, were discussed.

The importance of the mechanism of political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs in order to discuss mutual visits between the two countries, contacts within the framework of various international events, the current state, and prospects of bilateral relations was noted.

J. Bayramov informed the other party in detail about the current situation and realities in the region, as well as the Azerbaijan-Armenia normalization process. Despite the conclusion of negotiations on the text of the peace agreement between Azerbaijan and Armenia, it was emphasized that the existence of territorial claims against our country in the Armenian constitution, as well as the position of the Armenian side with the Minsk Group and other relevant structures of the OSCE, constitute an obstacle, and it is important to eliminate these obstacles for the signing of the Agreement.

In addition, the Minister provided information on the trial of separatist leaders and individuals of Armenian origin accused of committing large-scale crimes against Azerbaijan and noted that after the anti-terrorist measures, Azerbaijan demonstrated humanity by allowing more than 10,000 representatives of illegal Armenian armed groups to leave the country. It was noted that the arrested individuals were accused of crimes against humanity, and it was emphasized that there was no basis for the smear campaign against Azerbaijan and that these arrests were groundless. In this regard, information was provided on the opinion of the UN Human Rights Council Working Group on Arbitrary Detention published on March 13, 2025, in which the claims of the Armenian side on the issue were rejected.

During the telephone conversation, views were also exchanged on other issues of mutual interest.
