Georgian President meets Azerbaijani PM

Georgian President Mikheil Kavelashvili, who is on an official visit to Azerbaijan, met with Prime Minister Ali Asadov.

Axar.az reports that M. Kavelashvili wrote about this in his X account.

The head of state emphasized that the meeting was productive.

M. Kavelashvili said that the main directions of strategic partnership between Georgia and Azerbaijan, and successful cooperation in various fields, including multilateral formats, were discussed at the meeting.

“We emphasized the importance of further strengthening trade and economic relations and promoting joint regional projects. I also noted the important role of peace and stability in the region, and expressed my gratitude to Azerbaijan for its unwavering support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia,” the President wrote.

According to the information released by the Administration of the President of Georgia, the importance of the Middle Corridor and increasing freight traffic was also emphasized at the meeting. The parties also noted the importance of peace and stability in the South Caucasus.
