Iran recognizes Karabakh as part of Azerbaijan

We recognize the rights of you, Azerbaijan, and the dear Azerbaijani people to Karabakh and other territories that Azerbaijan should own.

Axar.az reports that this was stated by the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Masoud Pezeshkian, at an expanded meeting with the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, in Baku on April 28.

"We believe that Karabakh is an integral part of Azerbaijan, and we respect it. Of course, our presence here will create an opportunity to strengthen our relations and unity," Pezeshkian noted.
