During his visit to Saudi Arabia, U.S. President Donald Trump is expected to announce that the United States recognizes an independent Palestinian state.

Axar.az reports that this was stated in an article by The Jerusalem Post.

According to the publication, a Gulf-U.S. summit will be held in Saudi Arabia during Trump’s visit, where he will make important announcements.

A Gulf diplomatic source, who wished to remain anonymous, stated that Trump will declare U.S. recognition of an independent Palestinian state—without the involvement of Hamas.

The source also added that if Washington officially recognizes a Palestinian state, it would be one of the most significant declarations to shift the balance of power in the Middle East, potentially leading more countries to join the Abraham Accords.
