Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, Hikmat Hajiyev, shared a message on the occasion of National Press Day.
Axar.az reports that he made the following statement on his X account:
"Dear media representatives, esteemed friends! I sincerely greet each of you and warmly congratulate you on July 22 – National Press Day. This significant day holds great importance not only for the media community but also for our society as a whole. Journalism is an honorable profession that demands high responsibility. You carry out this challenging yet crucial mission with professionalism, working devotedly to ensure the objective dissemination of information, public enlightenment, and the promotion of national values.
The high appreciation expressed by our President, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, for our media and his valuable remarks are clear examples of the great trust and attention shown toward the journalistic profession.
Today, Azerbaijani media has gone beyond national borders, operating at the international level, offering a global perspective with regional insights, being read and referenced in various parts of the world, and serving as one of the impactful instruments of "soft power" aligned with our country's new, globally-oriented foreign policy.
The Presidential Decree on celebrating the 150th anniversary of Azerbaijan’s national press, as well as the state awards given to many professional journalists, reflects the importance given to media development in our country and serves as great motivation for those working in this field.
On this remarkable anniversary, I once again sincerely congratulate each of you and wish you continued success in realizing the goals set by our President for the media, in strengthening our statehood, and in defending our national interests."
