At the same time, according to the information published by the Russian website 66.ru, citing a source in law enforcement agencies, two separate criminal cases have been opened against Shikhlinsky. These charges are under the articles of murder and the use of violence against a representative of the government.
The Musavat.com website has an indictment signed by the Deputy Chairman of the Russian Investigative Committee, Colonel General of Justice E.V. Kaburneev. According to documents published by the Sverdlovsk Regional Department of the Russian Investigative Committee, a criminal case has been initiated against the head of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the Ural region, Shahin Shikhlinski, and his son Mutavali Shikhlinski, under Article 318.1 of the Russian Criminal Code (use of force against a representative of government).
