MES issues cold-weather safety warning

The Ministry of Emergency Situations (MES) has appealed to the population regarding the current weather conditions.

Axar.az was informed about this by the MES.

It was noted that cold and frosty weather conditions are currently observed throughout the country, especially in mountainous regions.

Thus, citizens living in mountainous areas, as well as those traveling to the mountains, are advised not to leave their settlements as much as possible in frosty weather, and to inform their relatives in advance about the direction of travel if such a necessity arises. When traveling by car, the technical characteristics of the car should be in accordance with the season, and a sufficient fuel reserve should be ensured. It is recommended to avoid places with a risk of avalanches, including steep slopes, and return to the settlement before dark.

At the same time, since cold weather conditions have led to a significant increase in excessive use, fire safety rules should be strictly observed when using these devices. Defective, substandard, or homemade heating devices should not be used, the electrical network should not be overloaded, and heating devices that are in working condition should not be left unattended.
