Snow depth reaches 29 cm in Azerbaijan

Snow fell in some mountainous areas at night and in the morning, and the snow depth in Sharur reached 29 centimeters (cm).

Axar.az reports that this was stated in the information of the National Hydrometeorological Service as of 11:00 on January 1.

It was reported that the snow depth was 29 in Sharur (Bichenak), 17 in Gakh (Sarybash), 12 in Gusar, 7 in Gadabay, 6 in Shahbuz, 5 in Sadarak, 4 in Khinalig, Gryz, 1 in Sheki, Khaltan, Shahdag, and Julfa.

In some places, a westerly wind blew, and the maximum wind speed increased to 26 in Mingachevir, 24 in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula, and 20 in Shahdag.

The minimum air temperature was recorded in Baku and the Absheron Peninsula at 4 degrees Celsius, in the Aran regions at 2 degrees Celsius, and in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic and mountainous regions at 7 degrees Celsius.
