The Ministry of Emergency Situations has appealed to the population regarding the irregular parking of cars during holidays.
Axar.az reports that the ministry informed about this.
The appeal stated that during several consecutive non-working days due to the World Azerbaijanis Solidarity Day and the New Year holiday, citizens park their vehicles mainly in or around the courtyards of buildings:
"Based on observations, as well as a general analysis of the fire and rescue operations carried out, it should be noted with regret that in several cases, irregularly parked cars, at the entrances and courtyards of buildings, on the carriageway of highways or in the immediate vicinity of fire water supply systems, create obstacles to the operational movement and rapid combat readiness of firefighting, rescue and other large-sized special-purpose vehicles during an emergency, as well as make it difficult, and in some cases impossible, to draw water from water pools and hydrants during fire extinguishing."
In connection with the above, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, taking into account the possible dangers that may arise due to the mass parking of private cars during holidays, appeals to citizens and states that in the event of a fire or other emergency, cars should be parked only in designated places, maintaining a safe distance from each other, and ensuring the free passage of other cars, in order to allow fire and rescue vehicles and other large-sized special-purpose vehicles to approach buildings without hindrance, to quickly put them into combat readiness, and to conduct operations effectively, as well as to conveniently use water pools and hydrants.
