Baku to introduce temporary traffic lanes for WUF13

Temporary special traffic lanes will be introduced on several streets and avenues in Baku during the 13th session of the World Urban Forum (WUF13), which will take place from May 17–22.

Axar.az reports, citing the Azerbaijan Land Transport Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport, that the temporary lanes will be installed on Heydar Aliyev Avenue–Airport Highway, as well as Abbasgulu agha Bakıxanov, Mehdi Abbasov, Mikayil Aliyev, Yusif Safarov, and Mikayil Mushfig streets.

The lanes will come into force once the relevant road signs are put in place. Until then, all vehicles will be allowed to use them.

WUF13 will be held in Baku on May 17–22. So far, more than 20,000 participants from different countries have registered for the forum. The event is being organized in close cooperation with the UN Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat). Its main goal is to promote the exchange of global experience in sustainable urban development, smart cities, and innovative urban solutions.
