Baku–Tbilisi passenger trains to resume on May 26

The Azerbaijan Railways CJSC has announced the resumption of daily passenger train services on the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku route.

Axar.az informs, citing ADY, that passenger train operations will resume on May 26, 2026.

“Based on the Joint Communiqué signed between the governments of Azerbaijan and Georgia, passenger train services on the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku route will be restored starting from May 26, 2026,” the statement said.

It is worth noting that passenger train services on the Baku–Tbilisi–Baku route were suspended in March 2020 due to the COVID-19 pandemic and special quarantine measures.
