‘We must build better, smarter, and more resilient urban systems’

“We must build better, smarter, and more resilient urban systems,” said Emin Huseynov, Special Representative of the President of Azerbaijan in the Aghdam, Fuzuli, and Khojavend districts, during the event titled “Housing at the Center of Crisis Recovery and Reconstruction” held within the framework of the 13th Session of the United Nations World Urban Forum (WUF13).

Axar.az informs that he noted that providing housing must come first, as it restores dignity, stability, and trust. “When families return to safe homes, schools reopen, local economies revive, social bonds are rebuilt, and communities regain their faith in the future,” Emin Huseynov emphasized.

He also stated that a significant number of former internally displaced persons (IDPs) have already returned to reconstructed communities, with many more expected to return in the coming years.
