Children and Youth Roundtable held at WUF13

The Children and Youth Roundtable was held as part of the 13th Session of the World Urban Forum, organized by the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat).

Axar.az reports that the event brought together representatives of government institutions from different countries, international organizations, youth and child-led organizations, civil society, experts, and young activists.

Farid Gayibov, Minister of Youth and Sports of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Bahar Muradova, Chairperson of the State Committee for Family, Women, and Children Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan; Anacláudia Rossbach, Executive Director of the United Nations Human Settlements Programme (UN-Habitat); as well as young leaders and international experts representing different countries delivered remarks at the event.

The panel session was organized in an interactive discussion format. Speakers exchanged views on strengthening the participation of children and youth in shaping urban policies, expanding access to economic opportunities, creating safe and accessible urban spaces, and developing an action agenda for the post-WUF13 period.
