Another Azerbaijani has been killed in the war in Ukraine.

Axar.az reports that Russian citizen of Azerbaijani origin Asif Mehdiyev, born in 1995, lost his life during military operations in Ukraine.

It was reported that Asif Mehdiyev, born on March 19, 1995, and residing in the Russian city of Astrakhan, served in the Russian army as a contract serviceman. He was killed in one of the intense battles in the Donetsk region.

It should be noted that since the start of the Russia-Ukraine war, hundreds of Azerbaijanis fighting on both sides have been killed. The casualties include both local Azerbaijanis fighting in the Ukrainian army and compatriots living in Russia who were recruited into the Russian military.
