The U.S. Embassy in Azerbaijan will be closed today in observance of Memorial Day, a U.S. public holiday.

Axar.az informs that in its statement, the embassy said that each Memorial Day, Americans honor the brave men and women in the U.S. Armed Forces who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to their country.

"As America marks 250 years of independence, we reflect with gratitude on those who gave their lives in defense of freedom, peace, and the values that continue to unite and inspire us. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.

Please note that the U.S. Embassy will be closed on Monday, May 25 in observance of the holiday," the embassy noted.
