Dutch embassy to Iran resumes work in Tehran

The Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iran has resumed operations in Tehran after temporarily working from Azerbaijan.

Axar.az reports that the information was shared by the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan on its X account.

"Having temporarily operated from Azerbaijan, the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Iran resumed its activities in Tehran as of 7 June 2026," the statement said.

The post also expressed gratitude to Azerbaijan for its support.

"The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands has expressed its appreciation to the Azerbaijani authorities and the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Azerbaijan for their support," it added.

It should be recalled that on March 10, head of the Netherlands’ diplomatic mission in Iran, Emil De Bont, announced that the embassy in Tehran would temporarily operate from Azerbaijan.

Netherlands Ambassador to Azerbaijan Marian de Jong stated on April 29 that the embassy in Tehran continued its activities from Baku.
