Azerbaijan and Syria discuss expanding media cooperation

Azerbaijan and Syria have discussed prospects for expanding media cooperation and confirmed their interest in further developing bilateral relations.

Axar.az informs, citing Repоrt, Syria's Information Minister Khaled Zaarour met with Azerbaijan's Ambassador to Damascus, Alnur Shah Huseynov.

Information Minister affirmed that the new Syria is working to launch a new phase of relations with friendly countries, noting the Syrian people's appreciation for Azerbaijan's decision to sever diplomatic relations with the previous regime during the Syrian revolution.

The minister also pointed to the importance of reformulating media discourse and ending the misleading narrative promoted by the previous regime regarding Azerbaijan.

Ambassador Shah Huseynov emphasized the importance of the restoration of relations between Damascus and Baku following the fall of the previous regime, noting that Syria has witnessed significant progress within a short period.

He added that Azerbaijan attaches great importance to strengthening cooperation with Syria across various fields and sectors.
