Azerbaijan launches digital platform on missing persons

The State Commission of the Republic of Azerbaijan on Prisoners of War, Hostages and Missing Persons has launched the Online Inquiry Center to enable the collection, management, and electronic processing of information related to missing persons and citizen inquiries.

Axar.az reports that the portal has been developed on the basis of the Integrated Data Management System created within the framework of cooperation between the State Commission and the International Commission on Missing Persons.

The new digital platform serves to manage information on missing persons within a unified electronic system, ensure prompt data exchange among state institutions, facilitate more efficient review of citizen inquiries, and organize interaction with families of missing persons through modern digital means.

The development of the system has taken into account the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Azerbaijan as well as the areas of activity of the State Commission. The portal operates fully in the Azerbaijani language, and all data is stored on servers located within the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The portal provides users with the following features:
submission of new information on missing persons through the "Repоrt a Missing Person" service; submission of electronic inquiries to the State Commission through the "Request on Missing Persons" section; provision of information on possible burial sites or locations through the "Indicate a Place" service, including geographic coordinates; uploading of photographs, documents, and other materials to the system in electronic form; submission of additional information to facilitate the prompt review of inquiries.

One of the key advantages of the portal is the systematization and analysis of information received from citizens within a unified electronic database, and its availability to relevant state institutions. This allows for more effective planning of search, excavation, exhumation, and identification processes.

To access the Online Inquiry Center, it is sufficient to visit the official website of the State Commission.

The State Commission calls on all individuals who may have any information that could assist in clarifying the fate of missing persons to make use of the Online Inquiry Center.
