Azerbaijani art critic Irada Berg dies at 53

Prominent Azerbaijani art critic and member of the St. Petersburg Writers' Union, Irada Berg, has died at the age of 53.

Axar.az reports that the announcement was made by the press service of the city's Culture Committee.

“Irada Tofiq qizi Berg (Vovnenko) has passed away. We extend our deepest condolences to her family and loved ones. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her colleagues, friends, and everyone touched by her work,” the statement said.

No information has yet been released regarding the cause of death or funeral arrangements.

Irada Berg was born on January 5, 1973, in Saint Petersburg to the family of architect and mathematician Tofiq Hasanov. Her father grew up in a large family and was raised in an orphanage after losing his parents at an early age. After graduating from the Baku Polytechnic Institute, he continued his education in Leningrad (now Saint Petersburg), where he later started a family.
