Fuel shortages hit 16 Russian regions after refinery strikes

Fuel shortages have hit at least 16 Russian regions following fresh strikes on the country’s oil refineries.

Axar.az reports, citing Russian media, that restrictions have once again been imposed at gas stations, while some have shut down completely. Authorities in some regions have urged residents to use their cars less frequently.

According to the report, 13 of 47 gas stations in one district of Krasnoyarsk Krai and seven of 26 stations in Sterlitamak are currently not operating. In Bashkortostan, the sale of gasoline in containers has been restricted, while in Sochi, fuel is available at roughly two-thirds of gas stations.
