Drone strike damages Azerbaijani sculptor’s workshop

A drone strike on Ukraine’s Kharkiv several days ago caused significant damage to the workshop of Azerbaijani-born Katib Mammadov, a People’s Artist of Ukraine and honorary citizen of Kharkiv.

Axar.az reports that Mammadov told Azertac that a fire covering an area of about 200 square meters broke out following the drone strike.

The attack damaged the building’s roof, attic and artworks stored there.

The workshop housed hundreds of works created by Mammadov over his 40-year artistic career in classical, avant-garde and minimalist styles.

Mammadov said the attack caused approximately $100,000 in material damage to the workshop.
