Three Azerbaijanis detained over Northern Cyprus shipwreck

Three Azerbaijani citizens are among those detained as part of an investigation into the shipwreck off the coast of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus that left eight people dead.

Axar.az reports, citing Repоrt, that the detainees are Valeh Humbatov, a resident of Palchigoba village in the Khachmaz district; Rashad Ibrahimov, originally from Tartar and currently living in Baku; and Gadir Guliyev, from the Shabran district.

The vessel sank off the coast of Kyrenia in Northern Cyprus on August 30. According to the latest information, 240 people have been rescued, eight have died, and search and rescue operations are continuing for 19 passengers.
