Azerbaijani judoka wins gold at European Junior Championships

Azerbaijani judoka Aykhan Mirzazada has won the gold medal at the European Junior Championships held in Podgorica, the capital of Montenegro.

Axar.az reports that the athlete, competing in the 60 kg weight category, defeated France’s Lucien Tixier in the decisive bout to claim the top spot on the podium.

It should be noted that Azerbaijan is represented at the continental event by 14 judokas (9 men and 5 women) across 10 weight categories. Today, among the other Azerbaijani competitors, Mahammad Musayev (66 kg) will compete for gold, while Khadija Gadasheva (57 kg) will fight for bronze.
