The tradition of the Azerbaijani and Iranian presidents drinking Istisu mineral water in Bishkek has been continued at the Istisu plant in Kalbajar by Hikmat Hajiyev, Assistant to the President of Azerbaijan and Head of the Foreign Policy Affairs Department of the Presidential Administration, and Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mojtaba Demirchilou.

Axar.az informs, citing Repоrt, that during a visit by representatives of the diplomatic corps to the Istisu plant in Kalbajar, Hajiyev and Demirchilou drank Istisu as a continuation of the tradition.

Hajiyev said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and his Iranian counterpart Masoud Pezeshkian had established a very good tradition.

"In other words, following this tradition, we also decided to drink Istisu with Iranian Ambassador to Azerbaijan Mojtaba Demirchilou. Together, we will also think about how to deliver Istisu water to the brotherly people of Iran, and we are confident that they will also find its taste excellent," he said.

On August 31, an interesting exchange took place between Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev and Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan.

During a meeting held as part of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation Summit, President Ilham Aliyev offered his Iranian counterpart a taste of Istisu mineral water that he had brought from Azerbaijan.

Ilham Aliyev and Masoud Pezeshkian then both drank the mineral water.
