Knowledge Day is being celebrated in Azerbaijan today, September 15, with classes beginning at educational institutions across the country.

Axar.az reports that a total of 2.2 million students will attend educational institutions in the new academic year, while more than 130,000 children will start first grade.

Meanwhile, 75,000 students have been admitted to higher education institutions at all levels for the 2026/2027 academic year.

According to an order issued by the Ministry of Education and Science on organizing the new academic year, the first lesson for students in grades 2-11 across the country will be dedicated to the “Year of Urban Planning and Architecture.”
