Foreign Ministry marks Baku liberation anniversary

Azerbaijan’s Foreign Ministry has issued a statement marking the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from Armenian-Dashnak forces.

Axar.az reports that the statement was shared on the ministry’s X account.

“Today marks the 108th anniversary of the liberation of Baku from Armenian-Dashnak forces.

108 years ago, the liberation of Baku by the Caucasus Islamic Army, which included the Azerbaijani Corps, became a major turning point in Azerbaijan’s struggle for statehood. This historic victory demonstrated the Azerbaijani people’s determination to achieve independence and statehood, as well as the unity, courage and sacrifice of our people and their allies.

We remember with deep respect and gratitude the memory of all the heroes who sacrificed their lives to achieve this historic victory,” the statement said.
