Minister of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Colonel General Kamaladdin Heydarov, met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kyrgyz Republic to our country, Maksat Mamytkanov.

Axar.az reports, citing the Ministry of Emergency Situations, that Minister Kamaladdin Heydarov warmly welcomed Ambassador Maksat Mamytkanov and spoke with satisfaction about the existing friendly and fraternal relations between the two countries, recalling that bilateral relations based on the historical and cultural closeness, common values, mutual respect and trust of our peoples with common roots have successfully developed at the level of strategic partnership thanks to the political foresight and wisdom of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mr. Ilham Aliyev, and the President of the Kyrgyz Republic, Mr. Sadyr Zhaparov.

In this context, the Minister touched upon the expanding relations between the Ministries of Emergency Situations of the two countries, evaluated the delivery of humanitarian aid to Kyrgyzstan by the Azerbaijani MES after the strong earthquake in Osh region in 2015, in accordance with the relevant instructions of the President of the country, and the sending of gratuitous material and technical assistance to the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kyrgyz Republic last year as another manifestation of brotherly solidarity between our countries and noted that this had contributed to the development of good-will relations between the respective institutions.

The Minister spoke about the importance of further developing cooperation with the Kyrgyz MES in the prevention of emergencies and elimination of their consequences, civil defense, training of specialists, exchange of professional experience and other areas, and expressed his confidence that the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Baku will continue its efforts in this regard.

Thanking for the warm welcome, Ambassador Maksat Mamytkanov expressed satisfaction with the continuous development of friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Kyrgyzstan. In this context, the ambassador emphasized the mutual benefit of further expanding relations between the relevant agencies of the two countries in the field of prevention of emergencies and elimination of their consequences and stated that he would spare no efforts in this regard.

Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
