Kyrgyz Minister of Education Dogdurkul Kendirbayeva has met with Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Latif Gandilov in Bishkek. During the meeting, the ambassador introduced Azerbaijani teacher Ulkar Verdiyeva, who has arrived in Kyrgyzstan to teach the Azerbaijani language.
Axar.az reports, citing Kyrgyz media, the Azerbaijani teacher’s visit was organized as part of agreements reached by the Kyrgyz-Azerbaijani intergovernmental commission on economic and humanitarian cooperation concerning the reciprocal exchange of teachers of the Kyrgyz and Azerbaijani languages.
Verdiyeva will teach Azerbaijani at Nizami Ganjavi School No. 103 and Heydar Aliyev School No. 20 in Bishkek. In turn, a Kyrgyz teacher will travel to Azerbaijan to teach the Kyrgyz language and literature.
Kendirbayeva wished the Azerbaijani teacher success in her work, noting that educational and cultural exchanges contribute to greater mutual understanding and stronger friendly relations between the two countries.
Gandilov highlighted the role of language and culture in bringing the peoples of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan closer together.
Two schools in Bishkek — Nizami Ganjavi School No. 103 and Heydar Aliyev School No. 20 — were built with financial support from Azerbaijan. They were inaugurated during Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev’s visit to Kyrgyzstan in 2022.
In addition, Kyrgyzstan built the Aikol Manas School in the Khidirli village of Azerbaijan’s Aghdam district. The school was inaugurated in the presence of the presidents of Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan, Sadyr Japarov and Ilham Aliyev.
