Jabrayil resident injured in anti-personnel mine blast

A resident of Azerbaijan’s liberated Jabrayil district was injured after stepping on an anti-personnel mine while grazing cattle in the Dagmashanli village area on October 8, 2026.

Axar.az reports, citing the press services of Azerbaijan’s Interior Ministry, Prosecutor General’s Office and Mine Action Agency (ANAMA), that 26-year-old Orkhan Ashraf Gahramanov, a resident of Jabrayil district, entered an uncleared area and stepped on a mine.

He sustained injuries of varying severity in the incident.

The Jabrayil District Prosecutor’s Office is investigating the incident.

ANAMA, the Interior Ministry and the Prosecutor General’s Office once again urge citizens to follow safety rules, pay close attention to mine hazard warning signs, avoid touching suspicious objects, refrain from entering unfamiliar areas, and stay away from areas where fencing and marking activities are underway.
