Baku hosts NATO training course

The opening ceremony of the 3rd workshop of the Partner Capacity Coherence Initiative – 2026 and the Self-Evaluation Level 1 (SEL 1) exercise, conducted as part of the Partnership for Peace programme between Azerbaijan and NATO, is held in Baku.

Axar.az reports, citing the Ministry of Defense, that in attendance were servicemen from the Azerbaijan Army and partner countries.

It was noted that participants will attend sessions on planning and conducting training within the Military Decision-Making Process, based on a peace support operation scenario and in accordance with NATO standards.

It was emphasized that such training activities are important for enhancing readiness for peace support operations, strengthening interoperability and facilitating the exchange of experience.

Additionally, the Self-Evaluation Level 1 (SEL 1) exercise involving the peacekeeping battalion and military police company declared to the NATO Operational Capabilities Concept (OCC) Pool of Forces will include an inspection of military vehicles, supplies and other equipment, as well as an assessment of their ability to perform tactical tasks during peace support operations.
