Court hearing for detained Azerbaijanis set for October 16

The detention period for three Azerbaijani citizens - Rashad Ibrahimov, Gadir Guliyev, and Valeh Humbatov - arrested in connection with a shipwreck in Northern Cyprus has been extended by seven days.

Axar.az informs, citing Repоrt, that according to Chairman of the Azerbaijan-Cyprus Friendship Society Orhan Hasanoglu, the next court hearing will take place on October 16.

On August 30, a vessel sank off the coast of Girne in Northern Cyprus. A total of 239 people were rescued. The death toll has reached 26, while search operations for missing passengers continue. Nine people, including three Azerbaijani citizens, have been detained in connection with the incident.
